Road Trip

Our trip back to Arkansas was one of the longest rides EVER.  Kory was always proud of being able to make “good time” in about 10 1/2 hours.  This trip took over 13.  Kaitlin made the best of it though.  She relaxed in the car with her headphones & shades (where did my little girl go?!?!?!?)

And played fun games, like putting Smokey in a “TRAP” and then saving him …

We had to make one stop in the middle of nowhere Arkansas.  This didn’t bother Kaitlin as she can find fun in about most anything.  The gas station just happened to have a little grassy area that she decided she’d use as a playground!

Picking up sticks … Kory said her Papaw would’ve been proud …

It was a long week and a long ride back.  We are thankful to be home!

Picture Overload

We took a lot pictures of the kids while we were in Knoxville.  An iPhone sure does come in handy!  Here’s Kaitlin on her favorite chair at Kiki’s house (it’s the one closest to the TV when Little Einstein's is on!)

Kaitlin loves all her cousins, but while she’s in Knoxville, Kiley is definitely her favorite.  Kiley is great with Kaitlin and Kaitlin loved when she would read to her.

Kiki even let Kaitlin pick some pretty flowers while she was at home. 

Colin’s sleeping habits have been off & on since birth.  He did pretty well in his napper while he was traveling.  What a sweet boy!

That wraps up our trip home to Knoxville.  We’ll all be back in the fall to cheer on the Vols!

Colin’s 1st Date

Our sweet friend Lindsey stopped by with Aunt Rachel to play with Colin one afternoon while we were in Knoxville.  These two have been best friends since college.

Lindsey brought her youngest daughter, Ellie, with her. Ellie is SO cute and precious!  She’s only a few months older than Colin so we all decided that they should meet.

Ellie seemed very much interested in Colin.  Colin, on the other hand, was intrigued for a while, but not quite as animated.  I’m pretty sure that boy will change his mind down the road though because she’s a CUTIE!

Considering kids these days, Kory & I have decided that arranged marriages for our children are the way to go (j/k)!!  Anyway, the kids (and adults) had fun on their first date!

Colin Meets Didi

It had been a long ride & long week for everyone, but a bright spot in our trip home was Didi getting to finally meet Colin for the first time!

He is such a wonderful grandfather and is great with our kids.  Kaitlin loves playing with him and I know Colin will too because he’s SO silly.

Colin Meets Mamaw

While we were in Knoxville, Kory took Kaitlin & Colin by Mamaw’s house to see her.  Kaitlin was so excited because she hadn’t seen Mamaw since Christmas.  Kaitlin ran up & gave her a BIG HUG!

Mamaw got to meet Colin too … but the meet & greet wasn’t exactly reciprocated.  Poor little guy was tired after spending all day with Aunt Jennifer & his cousins. He was asleep the whole time!

Family Fun

While we were in Knoxville, we stayed with Kory’s parents.  We were fortunate enough to bring their 9th grandchild with us.  Colin got to meet Kiki & Pop for the first time!

Kaitlin had a great time too!  She & Kiki had “arts & crafts” time every night.  Kaitlin LOVED making puppets with Kiki.  She’s been watching Rio a lot lately so the “birdie” was her favorite.

And she got to play outside with bubbles …

And Kaitlin had a lot of fun with her Pop slinging her around!

Easter Lunch

We were so blessed to have sweet friends invite us for lunch! It was such a fun time of great food and so much fun! It was one of the best days I can remember!We are so blessed with such wonderful friends in NWA. It makes home not feel so far away especially on holidays! We had all of Kory’s favorite foods and the kids even had a little egg hunt! We will all nap well this afternoon!

He is Alive!!

Easter had an extra special meaning this year! Kory and Kaitlin went to early service and Colin and I spent the morning together! It was a very meaningful time of worship for me and an Easter I will never forget! Today was about an empty grave and what Jesus Christ did for us!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead - 1 Peter 1:3
